Therapy Cat Gifts

Excuse my squinting, but it was a very bright, chilly Christmas Eve morning when I went on my therapy visit! Do you like my tie? It sings too. It’s actually a wine bottle decoration, but my breeder gave it to me, knowing my human would adapt it so I could wear it. My human turned it on for a lot of the patients, and I also purred and did tricks for them. Usually at this hospital we visit mainly children, but this time there were lots of adults. There were so many people to visit that me and the other team (which included a Corgi named Roxie) worked overtime!

Roxie’s human was one of the people delivering gifts to the therapy teams, so she brought ours to our visit. We weren’t expecting anything, actually. My human knew that one of the organization’s corporate sponsors was gifting the teams and had asked for requests. But we said instead of a gift, we wanted a donation to Fixnation. We didn’t realize our group had other gifts in store for us too! It began with this tote bag. Although I love my Hello Kitty backpack, it’s not as convenient as my human originally thought it would be, so we will probably start using this instead.

But the tote bag was only the beginning. Look at what else was included: a fleece roll-up blanket, a bumper sticker and license plate frame, and a very generous gas card to help with all the driving we do! We got the latter for completing at least three visits every month since we started.

There was also a post-it note pad, pins, and hand sanitizer.

Plus a magnet!

And we also got the official calendar poster for our organization. My photo is on the second row from the bottom, fourth photo in from the left. Binga is jealous I got all these therapy cat gifts. She thinks that because she is friendly and enjoys greeting people (and bossing them around) that she should be a therapy cat too. But too bad for her, she is a biter! That is not the way to win pals.

I didn’t want anything for Christmas because, well, I didn’t really need anything! Plus I got such awesome gifts from my Secret Paws and winning the two giveaways. I already have such an abundant life. But it’s so nice for my therapy group to acknowledge the hard work by all the teams. I am grateful and so happy to be part of them.
